CyRide "2.0" starts Saturday

The City of Ames will start rolling out major changes to its transit system Saturday. CyRide Director Sheri Kyras says most riders will notice "CyRide 2.0" is reducing fares back to $1.00, reversing a $.25 increase from 2011. She also says CyRide is replacing the little-used Grey and Pink routes that served east Ames with their "Ease" service that starts when riders transfer at City Hall. Kyras says more extensive changes to CyRide routes will be rolled out in August to coincide with the start of the ISU fall semester. The changes mark the first major overhaul of CyRide since it was established in 1977.
