Transitional health care plans being used by Iowans will be available next year. The Iowa Insurance Division made the announcement Thursday following approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Insurance Commissioner Doug Ommen praised the news, saying Iowans would've seen enormous rate increases had the plans not been able to continue operating. He says 38,000 Iowans are still taking advantage of transitional plans.
