House Republicans want the state of iowa to spend $235 million more in the next budget year than what's being spent now. Leaders unveiled their proposal Monday that spends nearly $7.5 billion starting July 1st. A little less than half of the new spending would replenish the state's reserve funds while a number of agencies would see an increase in their budgets. The House proposal comes as lawmakers enter legislative overtime--the 100th day of the 2018 session is Tuesday.
