Regents approve tuition hike

Tuition increases at Iowa's three public universities are one vote away from becoming official. The Board of Regents gave initial approval Thursday to increases that come after another round of state budget cuts. Three-point-eight percent tuition hikes have been proposed at Iowa State and the University of Iowa for resident undergraduate students. The University of Northern Iowa is looking for tuition to go up by 2.8 percent. The Regents meet again at UNI in early June.
