Iowa Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig says the ag industry faces a huge negative effect as a result of tariffs on Chinese imports. Naig says the effect of trade barriers on agriculture is dramatic, as the US exports over a $1 billion in pork products to China, while a quarter of Iowa's soybean crop also goes to that country. Naig says he understands there are real challenges in the trade relationship with China, but hopes the US Department of Agriculture and Iowa's congressional delegation can find a swift resolution to the issue.
