Former Cedar Rapids Mayor Ron Corbett will not be on the June 5th Republican primary ballot for governor. A court decision denies Corbett's request to include signatures that were crossed off his ballot petition. Part of Corbett's argument was that the will of those voters will be ignored if those signatures weren't counted. He said his staff crossed the names off the petition, not the voters tehmselves. Corbett came up eight signatures short of the 4,005 needed to get on the ballot for governor. Court documents show Corbett will be charged for the costs of the hearing and signature recount.
