Ames man charged with child sexual abuse

An Ames man faces charges for allegedly sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl. Police say Tyler Gene Harris, 27, was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, purchase or possession of a depiction of minor in a sex act and possession of a controlled substance. Authorities say investigators were provided information Harris had sexually abused the girl, and were given a video he sent to another person showing the victim participating in a sex act. Investigators were also given an image Harris sent to another person showing him sexually abusing the victim. He admitted to abusing girl and filming and photographing the act using his cell phone.  During a search of of his home, officers found a little more than six grams of marijuana.
