The RAGBRAI route into Ames on July 24th is set. Police Cmdr. Jason Ttuttle says riders will enter the city on S. Dakota Ave., then turn onto eastbound Mortenson, go north on Beach Rd. to S. 4th St. near Jack Trice Stadium. He says the deparment and the local RAGBRAI organizing committee don't want a repeat of the 2008 overnight stop in Ames, when thousands of cyclists were routed through busy neighborhoods. Tuttle says many riders will spend the night in city parks and on ISU property near S. 4th and University Ave. He says they'll leave town on SE 16th St. to Bell Ave, then north to E. Lincoln Way.
