One person is dead after an early morning two-vehicle crash in northern Story County. The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened north of Gilbert on Hwy. 69 at 150th St. just after six o'clock Tuesday morning. The patrol says one vehicle hit another head-on after crossing the center line. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch west of the highway. The driver of the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center, their condition is unknown. Names of both victims are being withheld pending the notification of family. Hwy. 69 was closed for several hours as the accident was investigated.
