Ames City Council meets Tuesday

The Ames City Council will get the second part of a Campustown pedestrian safety study Tuesday. Mayor John Haila says the broader study area covers Lincoln Way from Beach to Stanton, but looks specifically at the intersection at Welch and Stanton.  He says the report suggests removing a median at the Welch intersection, while adding one at Stanton. Haila says the council will also consider using eminent domain to aquire land in east Ames to construct city water wells.  He says the city's been unable to reach an agreement for the purchase of land with it's owner. Tuesday night's meeting in City Hall starts at 5:30.
