The Ames School District superintendent is warning students looking for more snow days to be careful what they wish for. Tim Taylor says the school board's decision a few years ago to measure the school year in hours instead of days gave the district two extra days for weather-related cancellations--days have been used up this year. The district's last scheduled day of classes is May 31st.
