Ice storm coats Iowa

Roads are treacherous after freezing rain moved across most of the state late Monday night and early Tuesday morning.  The National Weather Service says areas from Carroll through Ames to Marshalltown saw more than a tenth of an inch of ice.  The same holds true for Atlantic and Des Moines. To the south, Lamoni saw up to a quarter-inch of ice.  The only areas the weather service says were spared include Dubuque, Davenport, and towns in southeast Iowa.
