Florida school shooting dooms Iowa "Constitutional Carry" measure

Iowa lawmakers are feeling the effects of a school shooting in Florida.  It led Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Brad Zaun to not have his committee debate a so-called "Constitutional Carry" measure Thursday.  A permit wouldn't have been needed to carry a weapon under the measure.  Zaun also cited the governor's lack of enthusiasm for the proposal as another reason he didn't move forward with it.  The bill is effectively dead for the year as it had to pass the committee Thursday to be debated later in session.
