Arsonist firefighter avoids jail time

A former Story County volunteer firefighter convicted on 2nd-degree arson charges will avoid jail time.  Jacob Moody was sentenced Wednesday for burning down a barn in Cambridge last year.  Prosecutors originally recommended a four-year prison sentence, but a plea deal reduced that to two years probation and a four-year suspended sentence.  Moody admitted to police to setting the fire.
