Boone lawmaker charged with OWI

A central Iowa state lawmaker faces charges after being arrested for drunk driving.  Roone Republican State Representative Francis "Chip" Baltimore was arrested early Friday in Ames and charged with operating while intoxicated and possession of a firearm while under the influence. Court records show the 51-year-old Baltimore, a lawyer who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, told an Ames police officer he was on his way home to Boone after attending meetings in Des moines.  A police report shows Baltimore consented to a breath test which registered his blood alcohol content at 0.147, nearly twice the legal limit.  Baltimore has pushed for legislation to keep drunk drivers off the roads
