Ames worker dies in plant accident

An Ames manufacturer has closed it's facilities after a worker was killed on the job. In a statement, Danfoss says an employee was injured at about 4:00 Thursday afternoon at the company's 13th St. location. He was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.  The company's not said specifically how the worker was injured.  Danfoss says it's working with state Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigators to determine the exact cause. The company declined to release the employee’s identity, pending the notification of family. The Denmark-based Danfoss operates Ames facilities on 13th St. and Airport Rd. Both are closed until further notice.
