The return of capital punishment to Iowa is expected to be debated in the Legislature during the 2018 session. Urbandale Republican senator Brad Zaun says he plans to assign a subcommittee to take up a Senate bill. Zaun promises he will assign a subcommittee to hold a hearing so the public can give input.
