Winter returns with a vengeance late Wednesday into Thursday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for many counties west of Interstate 35 where the most snow is expected to fall. Tthe weather service is warning of hazardous travel conditions as heavy snow hits northwest Iowa and rain changes over to snow early Thursday morning over central Iowa. As for the snow totals, areas including Storm Lake, Carroll, and Algona are expected to see four to six inches of snow.
