Council ends Old Middle School housing development

The City of Ames will go back to to the drawing board on a new affordable housing development on the old middle school site.  The City Council Tuesday declined to approve an agreement with JCorp when developer Duane Jensen drew a line in the sand on a timeline to end his involvement with the project. At-large Council Member Amber Corrieri says it also became clear that the city would have trouble finding enough low and moderate income potential homebuyers who'd qualify for the city's program. There's no word on what the city's next move will be to find a developer for the land at 321 State Ave.
