The Ames City Council gave final reading approval, Tuesday, to a new rental occupancy code. First Ward Council Member Gloria Betcher says she knows the measure isn't perfect, but is necessary after state law struck down the previous code on January 1st. Mayor John Haila says the council will host a workshop session in City Hall on February 20th to address concerns on the new code.
