Ames School Board OKs bond issue language

A multi-million dollar bond issue to pay for a new Ames High School building and elementary classrooms took a step closer to reality Monday night.   The school board approved bond referendum language that calls for $110 million to pay for a new high school building and classroom additions to Edwards. Meeker, and Mitchell elementary schools.  The construction of a new high school swimming pool, expected to cost bewteen $14 million and $15 million will be paid for through one-cent sales tax dollars. Petition organizers hope to gather 1,500 signatures for the April 3rd ballot measure.
