It’s that time of year we begin the “Trail of Broken Promises” in other words New Year Resolutions. Those earnest pledges to improve our lives through various viceful endeavors. Losing weight, quit drinking, cutting back on gambling, exercising more etc… unfortunately promises made to ourselves are easier to break and have no immediate consequences. Here’s my long standing resolution, resolve not to make resolutions just set goals and work toward them, set no deadlines but measure progress along the way, deadlines create stress and frustration and often times lead to giving up. Make your goals personal, don’t divulge them to any one they’ll notice the changes you’re making and eventually comment and that’s a lot better than all the “How Ya Doin’ on those resolutions?” questions along the way.
