Story County's Election Commissioner says an estimated 4,000 voter identification cards are on thier way from the Iowa Secretary of State's office. Auditor Lucy Martin says the cards are being sent to residents who don't have a state-issued ID--a drivers license or non-operator ID. She says anyone who doesn't receive a voter ID card and doesn't have state-issued ID should contact her office. State law says the new voter ID system must be up and running next year. Also, Martin says voters should be aware that the ID cards don't list their polling place.
