Thousand of Iowans on Medicaid will again be on the state plan amid recent troubles with managed care companies. The state Department of Human Services says Iowa Medicaid members who tried to switch from AmeriHealth Caritas to AmeriGroup by November 16th “will have coverage through Iowa Medicaid fee-for-service." AmeriHealth Caritas is set to withdraw from Iowa Medicaid this week. More than 10,000 Iowans will be switched back to the state program. The department says AmeriGroup is working on making sure they can accept new members as soon as possible.
