The Ames Economic Development Commission will work with Alliant Energy to develop more than 700 acres of industrial land on the city's East side. The company announced Tuesday it will hold a five year purchase option on the land East of Interstate 35 on 13th street as it works to attract new business. AEDC board chair Brian Dieter says the “Prairie View Industrial Center” will make Ames very attactive to businesses looking for a home. Alliant vice president Jeanie Penticoff says the complex is good for the company and the city. Alliant officials say they’ll market the “Prairie View Industrial Center” while seeking state certification as a so-called “super park”, which could take about a year.
