Authorities have released more information on an officer-involved shooting in Dakota City. The Iowa Department of Public Safety said Sunday that the man shot and killed Saturday is Shane Allen Jensen, 20. Authorities say Jensen told family members before the incident that he stole a car and wanted to commit "suicide by cop." That led to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and Iowa Department of Natural Resources responding to an address in Dakota City Saturday. Authorities say Jensen pointed his gun at the responding officers after firing a shot in the air, that resulted in the DNR officer shooting and killing him.
