Feeling Grinchy

I don’t plan on being Grinchy all season but geez, couldn’t we hold back on the Christmas songs until after Thanksgiving? I think the problem lies in the fact nobody has written any great Thanksgiving songs. Nothing romantic or memorable about gluttony and football. Perhaps a diddy about “Deep fried turkey and Sweet tater pie” or “Bountiful Feast and the Porcelain Beast” at least they’re melodic. The musical “Oliver” offers up the song “Food Glorious Food” although sung about “Gourmet Gruel” it offers happiness in the worst of conditions. So much Christmas, so little Thanksgiving we need some balance, but most of all we need to hold off on Christmas music and give Thanksgiving proper respect, “Jingle Turkey, jingle turkey”…etc, etc.
