Dry weather prompts Iowa harvest

Agricultural officials say the mostly dry week allowed progress in harvesting, but farmers are still behind in the process.  Nearly a quarter of the corn for grain crop was harvested this past week, reaching 44 percent complete, but it remains nearly two weeks behind the five-year average.  Dry conditions mean topsoil moisture levels are 83 percent adequate and subsoil moisture levels are 73 percent adequate.
