A new State Auditor report released Tuesday says former Iowa State University Steven Leath used the university's plane for training flights 52 times during his tenure as president. Iowa State no longer owns the plane, but officials said in the audit that the plane wasn't clearly being used for university business. The audit also recommends that Iowa State seek reimbursement from Leath for a spring break trip last year. Leath is now at Auburn University and the plane controversy dogged him for months.
