Revenue Estimating Conference reduces forecast

The Revenue Estimating Conference says state revenues won't be as much as expected in this budget year. The conference Thursday projected 2.4 percent revenue growth--below the originally predicted 4.3 percent. That's a difference of more than $100 million and will likely mean state lawmakers will be asked to make budget cuts next year. REC chairman Dave Roederer said farming continues to be a drag on the state budget.
