Hackers take credit for Johnston cyber-threat

Cyber-criminals that call themselves "The Dark Overlord" are claiming responsibility for the threats that closed Johnston Schools.  They're not the only group that's been attacked recently. When they posted Johnston school data online, the hackers said that "any child predator can now easily acquire new targets."  In the past they've only threatened violence to extort money.  Last month school districts in the western states were targeted, with a demand for over $200,000 in ransom to a Montana district.  It's unknown if a similar demand was received by the Johnston schools.  The data posted online from Johnston was taken down by the website shortly afterward. "The Dark Overlord" claims they're the ones that dumped episodes of "Orange Is The New Black" online when Netflix wouldn't pay a ransom.
