Iowa harvest slowed by rain

The US Department of Agriculture says the harvest picked up speed last week and now six-percent of corn and 16-percent of soybeans in Iowa have been harvested.  Rainfall during the week allowed farmers just over five days suitable for fieldwork.  Topsoil and subsoil moisture levels improved slightly with topsoil levels rated 56 percent adequate and one percent surplus.  Subsoil levels rated 47 percent adequate and one percent surplus.
