As you may or may not be aware this is Good Neighbor Day, of course I, being the conscientious person I am, try to treat every day that way. I will spend an hour today giving out 6 carnations asking those who receive them to keep one and give the other 5 away to other people. How generous you might think, what an exemplary neighbor. The generosity is courtesy of Mary Kays Flowers and Garden Cafe at 3134 Northwood Drive here in Ames, a stalwart part of the community for many years and the nicest neighbors you'd ever want to meet. In all the years here I've yet to have a bad neighbor and have been surrounded by the most caring community anywhere. I look forward to today and hope to see a lot of you during the carnation giveaway at Mary Kay's.
