Drake president decries racism

Drake University's president says a student at the school was the target of racial epithets written on a white board outside her dorm room.  Someone also carved a swastika in the elevator in Olmsted Center over the weekend.  A letter posted by Marty Martin says the campus community is being faced with the same type of "hatred and fear-mongering" as seen in Charlottesville and Creston, Iowa.  Warlier this month, five Creston High School students were pictured in white hoods, burning a cross while one displayed a Confederate flag and another held a gun.  Martin says the acts of hate can't be removed and erased, and the victims need care and attention.  He says the university "will not tolerate racism and bigotry."
