The search for Iowa State University's next president is drawing closer to conclusion. The search committee said Tuesday it's selected eight semifinalists from the 64 people who applied for the job. The next step is in-person interviews for those eight unknown people. Finalists will come to campus early next month and the Board of Regents will meet in Ames October 23rd to name the school's next leader. Former president Steven Leath stepped down last spring to become president at Auburn University.
