Iowa sending Guard troops to Florida

Iowa is sending National Guard troops and equipment support to hurricane stricken Florida.  About 20 soldiers and four helicopters are deploying to support response operations for hurricane Irma.  The aircraft and crew members will move supplies, equipment and people and support search and rescue operations.  The State of Florida has requested support from Iowa through the national agreement among states to assist one another in times of crisis.  The affected states are responsible for reimbursing the states that assist.
