Police hope to avoid ISU-Iowa tailgate trouble

Local law enforcement officials hope to avoid a repeat of the problems in tailgate lots during last week's Iowa State football game. Ames police Cmdr. Geoff Huff says most of the trouble happened in privately-owned lots where fights and other unrest broke out before the contest.  He says the owners of those lots didn't heed police deparment advice to hire private security after trouble last football season. Huff also says an early start to Saturday's game against Iowa combined with the size of the crowd will be another challenge. He says officers from outside Ames will again assist the police department during Satuyrday's game.
