Admit it, all the years spent trying to teach our kids lessons that we learned through experience, you know, fire hot, don't run with scissors, let the dog have the bone, that cape won't help you fly off the garage roof, don't stand so close when your brother's swinging the bat etc.. You know the same wisdom our parents tried to impress upon us to no avail. Isn't there just a bit of sweet revenge as you watch your kids try to impart the same wisdom on theirs. Just as history, parental guidance repeats itself, the tell tale sign is that little smirk on grandparents faces.
