First of all my heart and thoughts are with the folks in southern Texas. Not just the ones who opted to stand their ground and are now jeopardizing the lives of others in an attempt at rescue but also those who wisely evacuated but will return home to utter devastation. Call me a dumb old Iowan, an accurate description, but when a severe storm warning is issued I find it a great time to inventory the basement until the all clear. We only have minutes to make a decision, they had days. While I don't pretend to understand the intelligence or reasoning for their decision it does not diminish my prayers for their safety.
