Ames' new water plan is on-line

Ames' new water treatment plant is now pumping water throughout the city. Water and Pollution Control Director John Dunn says the facility came fully on-line about two weeks ago. He says testing has shown no changes to water quality since then. The new $51 million water plant was approved by the Ames City Council in 2009 but construction didn't begin until 2014. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Aug. 26 followed by an open house.
