Council commissions Healthy Life Center study

The Ames City Council's retained a Des Moines firm to conduct a feasibility study on a proposed Healthy Life Center on the city's west side.  Parks and Recreation Director Keith Abraham says the city will pay RDG Planning and Design nearly $94,000 for thier work. He says the consultant's report should be back to the council by the end of the year. The proposed Healthy Life Center includes a swimming pool, gym space, classrooms, and food preparations areas.  It's a partnership between the city, ISU, DMACC, Mary Greeley Medical Center, Story County, and Heartland Senior Services.
