I've been doing a little personal survey of people that have been to multiple state fairs and asking which ones they felt were the best. To give you a better perspective, these were not just Iowans but from several different states. Granted it was not a wide swath of humanity nor scientific by any means but it may make you happy to know that the Iowa State Fair was the overall pick followed closely by Minnesota and Texas. Yes there were detractors who often referred to it's focus on rural America but after all isn't that the root of most fairs. Well I suggest you judge for yourself and you've got 10 days to make your decision. Our State Fair is indeed a GREAT STATE FAIR!
