There's another challenger in the race for Iowa Secretary of State. Democrat Deidre DeJear announced her candidacy yesterday. DeJear worked for Barack Obama's presidential campaign in 2012. The Drake University graduate will first face Jim Mowrer in the Democratic primary in June 2018 to determine who will take on a Republican opponent in the fall. Incumbent Paul Pate has not officially committed to seeking another term.
