Campers who enjoy one of Iowa's most popular state parks will have to find an alternative in 2018. The campground at Ledges State Park in Boone County will be closed April 1st through Oct. 31st next year by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Several camp sites are scheduled for remodeling and upgrades that include the addition of electricity. People will still be able to visit the park during the day. Geode State Park, Maquoketa Caves State Park, Lacey-Keosauqua State Park, and the campground at Marble Beach State Recreation Area will also get upgrades.
