A Des Moines man is dead after a weekend crash on Interstate 35 near ames. The accident happened at 11:15 Saturday night, as Katy Markham, 24, of Des Moines was southbound on Interstate 35. She entered the median near the 108 mile marker south of Ames and flipped over, throwing the passenger, Richard Boner, 25, from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Markham was taken to Iowa Methodist Medical Center by helicopter.
