Power's been restored to more than 500 City of Ames Electric Services customers left in the dark overnight. The city says a downed tree limb from Thursday night's thunderstorms fell across power lines and also broke the crossarm on a power pole. The city's outage website says the darkened area was near downtown--bounded to the south by 5th St. and the railroad tracks all the way north to 13th St., Grand Ave. west to Brookside Park. The outage started at about 9:00 p.m.
