Iowa Democrat chair resigns

The chairman of the Iowa Democratic Party says a health issue is keeping him from dedicating himself to the party's top position.  In a statement Thursday, Derek Eadon announced his resignation for medical reasons and cited a type of neuralgia--a painful condition affecting nerves in the head.  He'll receive radiation treatment and expects to recover, but says the party needs a chairman who can devote time to promote the party.
