Boone authorities have identified a man who stabbed himself in a grocery store Sunday morning. Police say officers were called to the HyVee just before 3:00 a.m. Sunday on reports that a man was harming himself. Police say they encountered Ronald Carle Hampton, Jr., 25, cutting his own throat. After refusing orders to drop the knife, police used a taser to bring Hampton under control. He was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines where's he's listed in crtical condition. No charges against Hampton have been filed.
