Ames officials ready for increased power demand

City of Ames officials are bracing for what's expected to be increased demand for elecricity Monday and Tuesday.  Electric Services Director Don Kom says lots of businesses that were closed for the weekend will open Monday and turn down air conditioners and increase activities that use elcetricity. Kom says the city's all-time top demand for electricty came in 2012 at 130 megawatts.  He says Monday's demand should be about 120 megawatts, with 124 on Tuesday.
