Another wet week for Iowa farmers

Despite fewer than three days suitable for field work, farmers statewide have 97 percent of the corn crop and 77 percent of soybeans in the ground.  South-central Iowa has been hit the hardest by bad weather.  Farmers there were lagging behind with only 86 percent of corn and 57 percent of beans planted.  There were scattered reports of corn turning yellow and replanting of crops in areas with standing water.  Last week was Iowa's driest in eleven weeks.
